KEY FINDINGS

- All 1.4 million students in London schools were exposed to pollution exceeding the WHO 2021 air quality guidelines in 2019

- In 2019, 99% and 85% of London students attended schools exceeding the NO2 and PM2.5 WHO health guidelines by 2x

- Disadvantaged pupils were more strongly correlated to attending schools with greater pollutant concentrations

- Decreased happiness and increased anxiety scores were moderately correlated with higher pollution concentrations

- Average energy costs per pupil were 20% higher in the top 15 most polluted London boroughs

- In 2030, 86% and 82% less schools are projected to exceed the NO2 and PM2.5 WHO guidelines by 2x

- Despite the expected reductions in pollutant concentrations, no schools are projected to conform with WHO air quality guidelines in 2030
